Where Can You Make The Most Money?


In the past year, we‘ve had hundreds of experienced agents (5 years or more in the business) ask us about our marketing and sales systems. They've told us that the niche market they are in has dried up, and they wanted to know which of our systems is working the best, based on today's situation. Where are agents we work with making the most money?


I told them all of our systems are working very well, however before I could recommend anything, I needed them to tell me a little of what’s going on. ‘Tell me about your situation...’


Their stories were very similar.  They all had been selling one product in a niche market. For example one was selling final expense polices in the senior market.  Another was selling life insurance in the payroll deduction market.  And, still another was selling 403b Annuities to teachers. The bottom line is that for whatever reason their market was drying up.


Almost every experienced agent I talk to is looking to move into an easier or better market.  It’s human nature.  The grass is always greener in someone else’s back yard.


However, as the old cliché states, there are acres of diamonds right in your own backyard, you just have to look for them...


If you've been in the business five or more years, you have built a book of business. You have existing clients... and that’s the Ultimate Niche Market!


The questions now are:  How can you help your existing clients?  What do they need?  What do they want?  Notice I didn't ask: "What could you sell your existing clients?"


How about helping them to set-up an education fund for their children, or grand children? Or, how about helping them to reduce their income taxes, set-up a supplemental retirement fund, or help them to reduce their debt?


Or maybe you could help them to pay-off their home mortgage early, increase their life insurance protection, reduce their insurance costs, or convert some of their term insurance into permanent insurance? 

 

The list of opportunities to help your existing clients is endless!


Even if your current niche market seems to be drying up, there is still plenty of money to be made. 

 

If you want to increase your appointments, sales and your income, then start with just 'one' of the above ideas and then run with it for your existing clients.  After you’ve contacted all your existing clients for one idea, then you can go to the next idea.
 

The objective is to eventually get an appointment with everyone of you existing clients, and then do a complete fact-find to discover what they really need and want.

 

The absolute beauty of working with your existing clients is the more you work with them and help them, the more they'll respect and trust you.  This, in turn, will lead you to more sales, easier sales… and many more referrals!  Along with saving you time and money!

Enclose 2 Business Cards
 

Put two of your business cards in everything you  mail out.

Prospects and clients need one for their card file. The other one can go in their Day Timer, or be sent to a friend, or colleague possibly to refer your services.

If one card in a thousand generates more business, it's a win.

Send two cards... even to existing clients. You want them to remain aware of you, and what you do.

Where else can you do it for just the pennies invested in two business cards?

Keep Your Current Customers

 

You know how hard it is to get a new customer.

 

So, once you get one... work equally hard to keep them.  You keep customers, and grow them too, by having a sincere interest in them.  No, not personally.

 

Yes, from a business perspective.  Still, show your customers you "love 'em", reach out and touch, be their teddy bear, their security blanket.

Let them know you do honestly care. 

 

Because your current customers are your very best source for new business... do all you can and more ...to keep your customers happy.

 

And, keep them returning to buy from you again and again.
