One of the easiest, most effective and lowest cost ways for you to become well known in your local community, to consistently attract your IDEAL prospects to you, is to offer Free Educational Workshops. Unfortunately, most advisors avoid using workshops because they are afraid of speaking in front of groups. I understand! When I first started in this business, I was so nervous, I used to puke before going out on a sales call. So, there was no way I was going to speak in front of any group. However over the years, I have overcome my fears and now I routinely speak to audiences of 20 or more.

Because of what I went through, (In Each Of Our Systems) we have come up with some simple ways for you to reduce and/or overcome your fears.

First, we've made it very easy for you to learn and deliver the workshop presentation. The PowerPoint presentation is less than an hour long and for the most part all you have to do is read what's on the screen. There is nothing for you to memorize! 

Second, the workshop presentation is about the problems people are facing today, and in the future. It's not about you talking about your products or providing any technical information. So, you don't have to worry about being stumped by any technical questions.

Fourth, one of the easiest ways, to overcome your fears of doing a workshop, is to just ask one or two of your family or friends to allow you to practice on them. You can do a workshop in your home, and play the PowerPoint presentation on your laptop or PC. Note: With most of today's TV's you can connect your laptop or PC to the TV and show presentation on your TV.

Fifth, you can keep repeating the above, inviting more family and friends and practicing the presentation until you feel completely comfortable giving it.

How to Fix Your Prospecting Problem...

If I were to ask 100 advisors what their biggest problem is that I could help them with, what do you think the vast majority of them would tell me? Would it be prospecting; getting enough appointments? Is prospecting; getting enough appointments your biggest problem?

Why is prospecting; getting enough appointments such a big problem for almost every advisor? Aren't there literally thousands of people right in your local community who have all sorts of financial problems?

Consider, almost everyone you will ever meet has financial problems. And, it doesn’t matter if they are rich, poor, retired, married or single. Their problem may be the fear of not having enough money to pay for their children’s college education. It may be the fear of not having enough money to retire. Maybe it’s the fear of running out of money during their retirement? Losing money in the stock market! Or, maybe it's protecting their family. Protecting their assets from predators, opportunists and lawsuits.  Paying too much in income taxes! Or, having too much debt! And the list goes on and on.

So, if there are literally thousands of people in your local community, with problems that you can help them with, then why are you and most advisors struggling with setting appointments?

Contrary to what you may want to believe, the biggest reason why you and most advisors are struggling with getting appointments... Is you don't know what questions to ask and what to say to get the people in your local community to want to meet with you.

And, yes it is that simple!

Whether you are talking to people in person or on the phone, you can easily set an appointment, if you know what questions to ask them and what to say to set an appointment.

Here are a few examples of the initial questions you should be asking.

Bill, If I may ask...

Do you have money in CDs? How are they doing for you?

Do you have money invested in mutual funds? In the last market downturn, did you lose money?

If something were to happen to you and your family lost your income what would happen?

The idea is to have a real conversation with people; asking more questions and really listening to what they need and want. You want to ask questions to get them to talk about their problems, so they will convince themselves that they need to fix their problem.

Then you should ask a question to set the appointment.

If there were a way to increase the yield on the money you have in the bank by 40% or more, with safety and guarantees, would it be worth 20 minutes of your time?    

If I could show you how to recoup your stock market loses by participating in the upside of the stock market, without the risk of the downside, and both your principle and interest are 100% guaranteed, would it be worth 20 minutes of your time?

If I could show you how to get the insurance you need to protect your family, without taking any additional money out of your pocket, would it be worth 20 minutes of your time?”

Imagine in the next 30 days being able to set an appointment with almost everyone you talk to! All it takes is learning to ask the "RIGHT" questions.
